What is the DC Brunch Club?
Welcome to the DC Brunch Club's official blog. We have been "underground" up to this point communicating by outdated email, but no longer! We are on the net and ready to tell you DC folks and visitors where to go and not to go for brunch!
How did the DC Brunch Club start? Well, that's a really interesting story...ok, no it's not, but I'll tell you anyway. Ann, the founder of the DCBC, travels a TON for her work and she decided that in the few and far between times she was in DC, she wanted to get her peeps together. Sundays tended to be the day she was in town most often and being a foodie and loving brunch, she started an email group inviting her crew to brunch.
The very first brunch was at Asylum...I didn't make that one, but I did it make it to the next one and almost every other one after. I must say the DCBC turned out to be a resounding success. Every week we get together like little amateur food critics and descend upon whichever lucky, or some may say unlucky, restaurant we have chosen. A lot of us have our little "tests" for the poor server or chef and then we download our experience to Ann who records in her BBerry...as of a few weeks ago, it is the BBerry 8800...she is so hip.
Each week, new faces appear from our extensive list of cool DC friends...ok, Ann's extensive list. (I have like 3 friends who live in DC besides my new DCBC friends.) It's a great time to not only eat sometimes good food, and drink champagne before noon, but to meet new friends and chat about whatever it is new acquaintances chat about - usually really intellectual and cool stuff. I swear.
So, our mission? Well, to find the best brunch joints in the city. At least, I think that's what it is. We have never really talked about it. But, I think that sounds good. So, yeah, that's what we are out to do - find the best brunch in the city. And drink before noon. Because that's fun. I don't even go out on Saturday nights anymore because I save up for Sundays - my new fave day of the week. (Ok, that's a lie...I totally still go out on Saturdays, but Sundays are still way cooler!)
So, if you want to hang out with some cool new folks who dig good eats and booze before noon (have I mentioned that yet?) or if you just want to get the skinny on DC's best bruncheries so you and your team can hit them up, then read on! I have posted all of our old emails, so you can see the places already infiltrated by our top notch group! And I will continue to post the upcoming brunches and reviews.

Erica,
Congratulations on your first blog! And what a great use for a blog too I must say. I look forward to hearing more about your DCBC adventures. Maybe someday I can attend one.
Your Friend,

Good idea! I have been super slacker blogger...so, when I get the last three brunches posted, then I will go back and do little "drink" headers!

What a great idea! I never know where to go for brunch anymore, we have a few regular places but we've been looking for a bit more variety lately. I'm looking forward to reading your reviews!

Hehe. I've read a bunch of your posts already and I've generally agreed with your comments on the restaurants. It's nice to know that I'm not the only brunch afficionado! My boyfriend thinks I'm a little weird for enjoying these so much...

Perfect! You're the blog I've been looking for all these years. Nobody seems to care much about brunch menus in restaurant blogs, so I can never find the info I need. Great idea, and I can't wait to read your reviews!

I like your style, the fact that your site is a little bit different makes it so interesting, I get fed up of seeing same-old-same-old all of the time. I've just stumbled this page for you
